Settings
Settings have server, database and statement scope. Choose the scope before the option name so the change has the intended lifetime.

| Server | XML configuration | Startup listeners, credentials, diagnostics and ceilings. |
| Database | SET or documented PRAGMA/catalog writes | Persisted defaults and effective database behavior. |
| Format | Statement SETTINGS | Input/output options for one statement. |
Read system.settings for effective database values and read-only format defaults. Server-only XML options are documented separately and do not appear there.
