SQL and Markdown notebooks
A Playground notebook combines executable SQL cells with Markdown notes. Each SQL cell is an independent HTTP request using the selected connection.
Create and run cells
- Open Playground and choose New notebook.
- Add SQL or Markdown cells and choose a connection.
- Run a SQL cell with Shift+Enter or use Run All.
- Reorder, duplicate or remove cells with their controls.
Run All executes nonempty SQL cells in order. It skips Markdown and blank SQL cells and continues after errors. Cells do not share a transaction or temporary table; put related statements together in one SQL cell.
Parameters
Use $name or ${name} in SQL and define Number or Text fields. Substitution ignores quoted SQL, comments and inline format data. An unset value or invalid numeric input blocks execution.
Notebook text and parameter values persist in the browser along with workspace state.
Stop waiting
Stop waiting ends browser waiting and discards the remaining queued cells. It does not cancel the current query on the server.
See browser workspace and HTTP sessions for state lifetime.
