Admission limits

Admission limits bound how many connections and how much incoming request data the service accepts. Native TCP and HTTP share max_connections and max_inflight_request_bytes.

A request that exceeds admission is refused before its SQL executes. HTTP reports admission failures with status 503. These failures are separate from time, memory or result limits encountered while executing SQL.

Uploads

A supported attached input upload has no total input-size ceiling. Its retained receive buffers still count toward admission, and receive timeouts still apply. A large upload does not bypass the service's connection or buffer limits.

Diagnosis

Use the response error, request identifier and diagnostic log to distinguish admission failures from SQL execution errors. Inspect the configured connection and incoming-byte limits before changing them.

See connection limits, request limits and the HTTP interface.
