Restore an independent service after storage failure

Coordinator DB does not manage replicas or rebuild them automatically after storage loss. Recovery uses an independent verified database copy or a logical export, with service startup and client routing handled by your deployment.

Prepare a new destination

Keep the failed storage isolated for investigation. Choose a new database path and restore the selected copy there. Start an independent instance with its own listener addresses and existing validated configuration files. Never open the same file from separate processes in an attempt to create redundancy.

Check the data before routing clients

Confirm schemas, row counts and application queries against the restored service. Determine the last successful copy or export boundary and reconcile any later source events if they can be replayed safely. Stable application identifiers help distinguish missing writes from already accepted writes.

Verify authentication and the actual application network route, not only a local readiness response. Change routing only after the destination is ready and users understand the recovery point. A DNS update does not restore missing rows.

After the incident, test the copy-and-reopen procedure with independent files so the next recovery has known evidence. Scheduled backups and remote backup targets are external operational responsibilities.
