Prepare the files and credentials a service needs
A Coordinator DB server starts with an existing executable, server XML and a users file. Keep the supplied configuration beside the executable; the server does not generate missing configuration or infer credentials.
Before startup, confirm the selected configuration path and database path. --config-file chooses the server XML independently from --db. Relative user and log destinations start at the configuration directory, so moving only a database file does not move those other inputs.
The users file must explicitly declare the credentials clients will use. Test the native or HTTP interface required by the application rather than treating a running process as proof that the application can connect. A health check and an authenticated SQL request answer different questions.
No external coordination service, hosted account or managed connector is required by the documented local installation procedure. Add external secure transport or application authentication only where your deployment needs it, following that service's own instructions.
For installation prerequisites, use the current installation guide instead of guessing minimum versions or undocumented packages. Keep the first relevant error when setup fails.
