What is CoordinatorDB?
CoordinatorDB is a relational SQL database for storing, querying and changing structured data. Tables can enforce primary keys, uniqueness, required values and other constraints. Transactions let an application commit or roll back related changes together.
Querying data
Use SQL to filter rows, join tables, calculate grouped totals and rank observations with window functions. Common table expressions and subqueries let a query be written in several named stages.
Native declarations include checked signed and unsigned integers, exact decimals, dates and timestamps, JSON, arrays, tuples and maps. The type reference describes the values and conversions accepted by each declaration.
Connecting
- Run the server and connect with the supplied native client for interactive or scripted SQL.
- Enable HTTP to send authenticated queries and use the browser Playground for SQL tabs, table pages and notebooks.
- Embed the
ConnectionAPI when the application should open a database directly.
Native connections and HTTP share the server's managed databases. The embedded API opens file-backed or in-memory databases without a server.
First steps
Install CoordinatorDB, then create a table and write a query. See deployment modes for connection lifetime and file-sharing rules, and features for the supported public surface.
