# Update an infrastructure billing contact

Coordinator DB's documented interfaces manage SQL requests and server configuration. They do not expose a hosted-service billing account, invoice recipient or billing-email API. A billing contact for a machine, network or storage service is managed with the provider that supplies that resource.

## Identify the account owner

Find the invoice or account record for the resource in question and confirm which organization owns it. Ask that account's administrator to change the billing contact through the provider's supported account workflow. Verify whether the change applies to future invoices, payment notices, or both; those can be separate settings in an external service.

Do not change a database username or an XML password field to update an invoice address. Those values control database authentication and are unrelated to billing. Similarly, an application email stored in a user table is ordinary application data.

## Keep operational contacts usable

Maintain a current contact for database access and incident coordination in your own operations records. Share only the resource identifier necessary to locate an invoice. Passwords, API keys and database exports are not needed for a billing-contact change.

For database identity changes, use the [users configuration](https://coordinatordb.com/docs/reference/settings/server-settings/settings/users). For endpoint checks, see the [HTTP interface](https://coordinatordb.com/docs/concepts/features/interfaces/http).
