# SQL console

The Query Console is the Playground's SQL editor. Enable HTTP and open `http://127.0.0.1:7401/playground`, then choose Query Console from the home page.

## Run a query

1. Choose a connection profile.
2. Select a database in the explorer.
3. Enter SQL and choose Run.
4. Inspect the result table or output view.

For a first request, use:

```sql
SELECT 1 AS connected, upper('hello') AS message
FORMAT csv;
```

```text
1,"HELLO"
```

## Inspect and export

Format adjusts the SQL text. Explain displays the server's query plan. Result controls can copy or export loaded rows and display a chart; search and filters change the loaded view rather than rerun SQL.

Aborting browser waiting does not cancel a running server query. Each run uses a separate HTTP session, so put related transaction statements in one request.

## Workspace state

Tabs, profiles and history persist in this browser. A fresh workspace tries the configured default user with an empty password; use Connections for Basic or Bearer credentials.
